Attempted fraud to the detriment of PKP PLK S.A. for over billion zlotys. 9 persons detained
Agents of the CBA from Katowice have detained 9 persons in connection with an attempt to obstruct the public tender announced by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.
9 persons have been detained by the officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Katowice. Among them are: manager and deputy manager of the Institute of Telecommunications in Wrocław, five representatives of a company seeking a contract and a legal advisor and an entrepreneur cooperating with this company. The detentions took place in Mazovia, Upper and Lower Silesia and Western Pomerania.
The proceedings conducted by the officers of the CBA concern an attempt to obstruct the public tender announced by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. under the name "Construction of ERTMS/GSM-R system infrastructure on railway lines of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. within the framework of NPW ERTMS ". The procurement concerned the system of safe control of trains, functioning in the majority of member states of the European Union.
Persons detained by the CBA are suspected of an attempt to obstruct the public tender, attempted fraud to the detriment of PKP PLK S.A. for over billion zlotys, as well as an attempt to act to the detriment of a competitive bidder, and in the case of public officials – employees of the Institute of Telecommunications, and also abuse of powers and failure to fulfill obligations in order to obtain material benefits.
All detainees will be transferred to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław, where they will be charged.
