New investigation. First detentions. Tax fraud in the background
8 persons detained by the officers of the CBA and Mazovian Customs and Tax Office in Warsaw. At least 1 million zlotys in damages to the property of the State Treasury.
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Warsaw together with the officers of the officers of the Mazovian Customs and Tax Office in Warsaw have detained 8 persons, including 2 representatives of a tax advisory office, 3 entrepreneurs from Piotrków Trybunalski and 3 persons related to one investment fund. At the same time, searches are also carried out in several places in Warsaw, including one of the capital's tax advisory offices.
Everything seems to indicate that entrepreneurs used the investment fund to avoid taxation, cooperating in this process with a tax advisory office. As it has been determined by the investigators, the actions of persons detained today caused at least 1 million zlotys in damages to the property of the State Treasury. The proceedings, under which the activities are carried out, concerns large-scale tax fraud, attesting untruth in documents and non-disclosure of the subject and the tax base to the relevant tax authorities.
The detainees will be transferred to the National Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk, where they will be charged.
This is the new investigation of the CBA and these are the first detentions in connection with it. New threads are being investigated and next detentions are not excluded.
