Deputy Head of the CBA at the annual EPAC / EACN international conference

Between 10-12 December 2019 the Deputy Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, PhD Grzegorz Ocieczek, an assistant professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW), took part in the 19th Annual International Anti-Corruption Conference EPAC / EACN (European Partners Against Corruption / European Anti-Corruption Network).

The main aim of the conferences organized so far is to build and maintain mutual relations in the field of cooperation between theoreticians and practitioners in the field of combating corruption in public administration, as well as institutions supervising the work of law enforcement agencies. The idea of the conference is to draw attention to threats and also to discuss new and effective solutions in this area.

The theme of this year's meeting was "Understanding underlying mechanisms of corruption - global challenges and preventive measures". The conference was organized by the Department of Special Investigations of the Swedish Police Authority.

During the presentation of the National Anti-Corruption Unit from Slovakia, it was announced that an e-learning platform had been launched based on CBA's experience in this field.

The European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC), established in 2004, brings together over 60 anti-corruption institutions. Based on the EPAC in 2008, the European Contact-Point Network Against Corruption (EACN) was established as a link between the anti-corruption network, which brings together nearly 60 state structures from the EU Member States. The EPAC / EACN initiative has become an annual effort to raise awareness in the scope of anticorruption among the representatives of the European Union Member States.

The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau became a member of EPAC in 2007. In 2013, the Bureau organized the 13th Annual EPAC / EACN Conference.
