Bribes for helping in fixing a tender
Three persons related to an activity of one of the companies from Warsaw have been detained by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. In the background, an investigation regarding corruption and asserting to have influence in a state institution.
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Kraków conduct an investigation concerning taking on intercession in settling a matter in exchange for material benefits, asserting to have influence in a state institution, self-government institution and the other institutions of Małopolskie voivodeship as well as providing material benefits to persons performing public functions. Within the case 21 persons have already been charged, including a former Senator of 8th term.
In the case, the officers of the CBA have detained three more persons currently related to one of the companies from Warsaw. It seems to be clear that detainees provided material benefits in the form of a donation for chosen funds, or promised to provide a “gratification”, in exchange for taking on intercession by former Senator of 8th term in settling a tender in way, which could be favourable for the company. As it has been established by the investigators, the detainees promised to provide material benefit in an amount of PLN 1 billion to purchase land to build an Autism Centre in this location.
The persons detained by the officers of the CBA will be charged in Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice.
