Corruption in the army - five persons detained
Former and present soldiers detained by the CBA together with the Military Gendarmerie. The investigation concerns irregularities in connection with the organization of tenders in the army.
The officers of the Poznań Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau jointly with the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk investigate the suspected crime of Polish Army soldiers serving in the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate in Bydgoszcz. Everything points to irregularities in connection with the organization of tenders for the purchase of equipment and services for the army, which could expose the State Treasury to significant losses.
Evidence in the case was collected by the officers of the Military Counterintelligence Service. The findings made, indicate that in the years 2018-2019, within the tenders, there were tender collusions and corruption offenses - between the soldiers responsible for conducting these tenders and persons conducting business activity.
In connection with this proceeding, the CBA agents together with the Military Gendarmerie have detained five persons, including two active and one former officer of the Polish Army and two persons conducting business activity. Everyone faced charges in the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk.
This is a new, developmental proceeding conducted by the CBA officers.
