Detained just after having commited an offence
A bribe for positive results of fiscal control. Three individuals caught red-handed.
Findings made by the officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Warsaw resulted in the detention of three men involved in corruption. An entrepreneur operating in different economic sectors, his son, and his agent who relied on the influence in the Customs and Tax Office, were detained in Warsaw just after having given the second tranche of the financial advantage, in the amount of PLN 40,000. The investigators’ findings indicate that the bribe was to be exchanged for a positive result of customs and tax inspection of the companies connected with the detained entrepreneur. The person relying on the influence in the Customs and Tax Office declared to pass a financial advantage to the head of the Office, in the amount of PLN 300,000.
After the detention, the places of residence and the entities affiliated to the entrepreneur were searched. The evidence gathered during the course of the investigation was submitted to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
The case is still expanding.
