Further persons with allegations in the Amber Gold Ponzi scheme investigation
In recent days, more people have heard allegations in the investigation conducted by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Bydgoszcz and the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Łódź concerning the failure to comply with the duties of public officials in the field of activities concerning Amber Gold sp. z o.o. (LLC), in the years 2010 - 2012.
The suspects are the former vice president of the Civil Aviation Authority for Air Transport Zbigniew M., former vice president of the Civil Aviation Authority for Aviation Standards, and the President of the Civil Aviation Authority Tomasz K.
What the suspects are charged with
The alleged offences concern improper supervision of the work of the Authority's subordinate employees in the years 2010 - 2012, among other things, to the extent related to the failure to obtain financial statements of the Jet Air aviation company (the legal predecessor of the OLT Express Regional sp. z o.o. - LLC) and failure to take action to effectively revoke or suspend the carrier's operating license.
The above mentioned criminal offences are punishable by up to 3 years’ imprisonment.
Preventive measures
Having carried out procedural activities with the participation of the suspects, the prosecutor decided to apply non-custodial preventive measures against them, in the form of a bail bond in the amounts of PLN 35 and 50 million.
A total of 11 suspects
In the thread concerning irregularities in the activities of the Civil Aviation Authority concerning the companies of the OLT group related to Amber Gold sp. z o.o., the charges were also presented against the former head of the Aviation Business Activities Department, the former director and deputy director of the Department of Air Transport Market, as well as an employee of the Strategy and Financial and Economic Analysis Department of the Authority.
In total, 11 people were charged in the investigation, including employees of the Civil Aviation Authority, tax offices in Gdansk and the Regional Police Headquarters in Gdansk.
