Searches in dozens of locations. Suspicion of corruption in a hospital in Szczecin involved
Under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, the CBA officers of the Regional Office in Szczecin have been carrying out a multi-threaded investigation involving undertaking activities which could frustrate or significantly impede the determination of the criminal origin of the means of payment derived from financial advantages accepted in connection with the performance of a public function by the head of a hospital ward by accepting the funds to the benefit of the Foundation under the pretence of voluntary contributions to the foundation's statutory purposes.
As part of the proceedings, almost 100 CBA officers have searched 23 locations, including accounts keeping locations and the premises where the accounting records of economic operators and the public institution have been kept. The activities have been carried out in a coordinated manner in a dozen pharmaceutical companies, the Independent Public Regional Polyclinic Hospital in Szczecin, as well as in one of the travel agencies in Szczecin.
The evidence gathered will be subjected to extensive examination and analysis.
Further procedural activities are planned in connection with the investigation.
