Former Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector detained by CBA
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Warsaw, in cooperation with the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, have been carrying out proceedings concerning irregularities in the operation of the former Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector. In connection with this investigation, yesterday morning, the CBA detained Zbigniew N., who held that position in the years 2016 - 2018.
Extensive evidence gathered in this case demonstrates that the suspect, being obliged to supervise the pharmaceutical market, allowed the pharmaceutical wholesaler to continue to operate, and made decisions beneficial to the entrepreneur, despite the findings of the employees of the State Pharmaceutical Inspectorate about irregularities in the operation of that entity.
In the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, the detainee faced charges of, among others, failure to comply with his duties and acting to the detriment of the public interest. The man faces up to 10 years in prison.
