The Ukrainian NABU will cooperate with the CBA
The Head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau Ernest Bejda and Director of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine Artem Sytnyk signed a memorandum of cooperation. This is the first such agreement which NABU concluded with another foreign anticorruption service.
The National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine was established in 2014 and it is at the stage of selecting the best model of service, from which NABU would be possible to acquire knowledge and experience. Therefore Ernest Bejda emphasized that we feel honored that the Ukrainian anticorruption service will be built on the experience of the CBA.
Director Sytnyk also said that his Bureau was examining the experience in Poland, Romania, Austria and in other countries in order to choose the best model for combating corruption, which can be applied in Ukraine. NABU has chosen the model which has been used successfully in Poland for the past 10 years – therefore the first cooperation agreement with another foreign service was signed with the CBA.
The aim of the visit of the NABU in Warsaw, apart from signing of the memorandum, was to exchange experience in the field of combating and preventing corruption. During the meetings, both Parties talked about mutual cooperation in the implementation of investigative, operational, control and analytical activities in the scope of recognition, prevention and the fight against corruption on the basis of existing channels of international cooperation, training of officers, educational programs and exchange of experts.
