The court will finalise the investigation
The proceedings carried out by the CBA Regional Office in Lublin and the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość resulted in an indictment against four individuals.
The indictment ending the proceedings conducted by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Lublin and the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość was submitted to the Regional Court in Lublin.
Four citizens of Lublin were charged with paid protection. The activities in the case were initiated by the CBA officers. Based on the evidence gathered, in December 2019, they detained four men during a special operation. From June to December 2019, acting in concert, all of the men invoked influence in state and local government institutions, including the Municipal Office of Lublin. In exchange for a financial gain in the amount of PLN 1 million, the defendants undertook to arrange a building permit and the legally required approvals in connection with the construction of a high-rise building on Zana Street in Lublin. The investigators' findings were submitted to the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość, which initiated proceedings in this case.
Additionally, one of the men was charged with invoking influence in state and local government institutions in 2017. The man undertook to act as an intermediary in obtaining a concession to extract sand from the "Wilczanka" deposit in return for a PLN 20,000 financial advantage.
