Corruption scheme busted by the CBA

Six people detained by the officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in the investigation concerning the payment of financial advantages to Prison Service officers.

By order of the West Pomeranian Local Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption in Szczecin, the CBA officers of the Regional Office in Szczecin detained six individuals, including two Prison Service officers – Director and Deputy Director of one of the Penitentiary Institutions of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The activities were conducted jointly with the officers of the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Central Board of the Prison Service.

Simultaneously, the CBA officers searched and secured evidence on the premises of three penitentiary institutions subordinate to the Regional Inspectorate of the Penitentiary Service in Szczecin and private residences. 

On the grounds of the evidence gathered in the course of the proceedings, the detainees faced charges of corruption, abuse of powers and failure to fulfil official duties. The investigation concerning the payment of financial advantages to Prison Service officers covers the years 2019 – 2020.
