Acting to the detriment of the Polish Steamship Company

Three persons with charges in connection with the investigation of inflicting damage of nearly € 3.5 million to the property of the Polish Steamship Company.

The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Szczecin, jointly with the West Pomeranian Local Division Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, have been investigating inflicting damage of great extent to the property of the Polish Steamship Company and its subsidiaries. The currently established damage to the property of the Polish Steamship Company amounts of nearly € 3.5 million.

Within the framework of the said investigation, 16 locations have been searched in recent days, including a law firm, an accounting office and the residences of individuals. On the same day, three persons providing work or services to the Polish Steamship Company, including a person providing legal services and the former and current Finance Director of the entity, were charged with criminal offences of fraud, aiding and abetting fraud as well as acting to the detriment of the company and money laundering.

The prosecutor applied non-custodial preventive measures against the detainees.

Further procedural activities are being planned in connection with the developing investigation.
