Bill of indictment against the former head of the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate (GIF)
The indictment filed with the court closed the proceedings on irregularities in connection with the issuance of administrative decisions in the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate in Warsaw in the years 2016-2017. The investigation has been conducted by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw and the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice.
The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice filed a bill of indictment with the Warszawa-Śródmieście District Court against two persons: the former Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector and a representative of the pharmaceutical community. The proceedings covered the years 2016-2017. The Prosecutor has charged the suspect with, among other things, failing to fulfil his duties and exceeding his powers in connection with the issuance of administrative decisions against one of the pharmaceutical wholesalers from Warsaw, which contradicted the findings of an inspection conducted at this wholesaler by inspectors of the State Pharmaceutical Inspection.
Zbigniew N., a former Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector, was detained by the CBA in October 2020.
The other person was charged with inciting Zbigniew N. to abuse his powers.
For the acts allegedly committed by the suspects, they may face a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
