Experts from different regions of Poland and Europe, representatives of services, academia and independent experts met on October 26-28, 2022 in Warsaw at the International Conference LEAF 2022 (Law Enforcement Analysis of the Future).

The conference was opened by Deputy Head of the CBA Daniel Karpeta, who welcomed the visitors and read a letter by CBA Head Andrzej Stróżny addressed to the conference participants. The Head of the Bureau formulated the purpose of the conference, emphasizing that its participants met to seek best practices and solutions in the field of criminal and strategic analysis. He emphasized that the conference is an important part of a project supported by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism aimed at strengthening international cooperation.

During the three days, 23 lectures were held, attended by nearly 500 participants, in desktop and online sessions.

Topics discussed included broad financial and economic analysis, advanced forensic techniques, new technologies in the service of criminal and strategic analysis as well as the current geopolitical situation in the context of the tasks facing analysts and law enforcement agencies. The conference was an excellent opportunity to discuss and learn about the theoretical perspective and practice of the issues raised.

The meeting was attended by guests from abroad, including Hungary, Sweden, Italy, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Portugal, France and Ireland. The conference was also attended by a delegation from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), one of the project partners, led by NABU Acting Director Gizo Uglava.

The conference was held by the CBA as part of the project entitled „Strengthening of law enforcement agencies and justice system institutions in the area of strategic and operational criminal analysis that will support identification, fight and prevention of corruption and economic crime”.

To cooperate on this project, the CBA invited Polish and foreign partners: the Internal Security Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service, the National Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Finance and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
