Jarosław G. was detained at his workplace as part of an investigation into the acceptance of financial advantages in connection with the performance of a public function.

Officers searched the detainee's place of residence, the Municipal Office and other locations in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Documents and data carriers of evidential value were secured. Officers from the Internal Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Finance also participated in the operations as support.

Jarosław G. will be taken to the prosecutor's office where he will be charged. Decisions on preventive measures will be taken by the prosecutor after the completion of the activities with the suspect. The case is in progress and further detentions are not ruled out.

We are reminding that persons who have got involved in a corruption scheme and have given a financial advantage to a person holding a public function have the possibility to benefit from the so-called prosecution preclusion clause provided for in Article 229 § 6 of the Criminal Code. The conditions for avoiding criminal liability are the acceptance of financial or personal advantage or the promise thereof by a person holding a public function, the voluntary notification of law enforcement authorities by the giver and the disclosure of all relevant circumstances of the offence before the authority in question becomes aware of it.
