In Memory of General Fieldorf "Nil"
On 24 February 1953 gen. August Emil Fieldorf "Nil" was murdered in prison in Mokotów district in Warsaw. His memory was celebrated today by the Heads of the CBA by placing a wreath in front of a plaque commemorating the members of the independence underground, which is located on the wall of the detention center at Rakowiecka Str. in Warsaw.
General Fieldorf, one of the most distinguished soldiers of the Home Army and Polish independence underground, after being arrested by officers of Secret Political Police (UB) in 1950 he was placed in the detention center of the Ministry of Public Security at Koszykowa Str., and then transferred to the prison at Rakowiecka Str. The investigation against the General was initiated on 20 December 1950. that was a beginning of intensive interrogations which lasted until 30 July 1951. General, despite the use of tortures against him, refused to cooperate with the UB. General "Nil 'on the basis of fake trial, was sentenced to death. On 24 February 1953 General August Emil Fieldorf was executed in prison in Mokotów district in Warsaw at Rakowiecka Str. Until today it is still unknown where General August Emil Fieldorf was buried.
On 30 July 2006 President Lech Kaczyński posthumously awarded the General with the Order of the White Eagle.
