On 14 July 2026, CBA officers detained two men in the Mazowieckie and Podlaskie Voivodeships, both former board members of the Polish National Foundation. As part of the operation, searches were conducted at the detainees' residences and at two locations in Warsaw belonging to former representatives of a company that had been working on behalf of a PFN-led project. Documentation and data carriers that could constitute key evidence in the case were seized at the scene.

Actions Detrimental to the Foundation and Losses Amounting to Millions of Zlotys

The Regional Office of the CBA in Rzeszów is conducting a preparatory investigation into the alleged abuse of authority and failure to fulfil official duties by members of the PFN Board. According to investigators' findings, their actions, carried out in 2017, are believed to have caused significant financial damage to the Foundation amounting to no less than PLN 8 million.

The detained individuals are suspected of spending the Foundation's funds contrary to the purposes specified in its statutes by financing the "Fair Courts" media campaign, a project that did not serve the Foundation's statutory objectives. Such actions constituted a serious breach of the rules governing the Foundation's operations and directly resulted in the aforementioned financial loss.

Charges and Preventive Measures

The detainees were brought to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszów, where they were charged. The prosecutor imposed preventive measures against them, including a ban on leaving the country and passport confiscation.

Investigation Ongoing

This is the first operational action carried out within the framework of the investigation. Further procedural activities are planned.
