Extortion of millions from PFRON. Detentions
The CBA officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Poznań have detained a president, a director, and four employees of one of local companies - a sheltered workplace. The president has been remanded in custody. The criminal group extorted millions of zloty from the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON).
The Regional Office of the CBA in Poznań, under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań, has been carrying out an investigation into the participation in the activities of a criminal group aiming to commit criminal offences involving prompting an adverse management of assets of the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons.
The proceedings involve the activity of several associated economic entities, which obtained financial support from the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) in the amount exceeding dozens of millions zloty.
At this stage of the investigation, the CBA officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Poznań have detained the president, a director, and four employees of one of local companies - a sheltered workplace. The allegations pertain to an adverse management of the assets of the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons in the amount of almost PLN 2 million. The illegally obtained money came from the monthly grants for the remuneration for the employees with disabilities.
By court order, the president detained by the CBA has been remanded in custody. Preventive measures in the form of a property surety, police supervision and a prohibition on leaving the country have been undertaken against the remaining suspects.
The officers of the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Revenue Control Office in Poznań participated in the investigation.
