The CBA thwarts an extortion of 100 million zł VAT
The CBA thwarted the attempt to extort 100 mln zł of VAT. False invoices for half a billion zł for 300 thousand cell phones. CBA agents from Białystok detained three people.
Officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok have detained three people suspected of issuing and circulating false VAT invoices on a large scale. The CBA disclosed false invoices for the sale of about 300 thousand mobile phones, which amounted to more than half a billion zlotys.
Initial estimates show, that the actions of the CBA officers have prevented the State Treasury from extortion by the suspects of approximately 100 million PLN of VAT.
The CBA's detentions took place in Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Mazowieckie and Zachodnio-Pomorskie voivodships.
The investigation is conducted by the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. Activities and case are ongoing, further detentions are not excluded.
