Corruption in Szczecin Power Plant. Already 22 people detained
The CBA agents from Szczecin have detained 10 more people - employees of Szczecin Power Plant and a businessman. Investigation concerns corruption in the delivery of biomass to power plant.
The Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin conducts investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin on corruption in the supply of fuel to a biomass-powered furnace at the Szczecin Power Plant. It was determined that the staff responsible for the supervision over the quality of the fuel, in return for financial benefits, would confirm, that the trucks were filled with technically adequate biomass, were in fact they were not.
CBA agents from Szczecin have detained 10 more people - employees of Szczecin Power Plant and a businessman. Everyone were charged in the prosecutor's office with corruption.
Already earlier the officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau from the Regional Office in Szczecin, detained 12 people, including a businessman and employees of the Power Plant Complex Dolna Odra - Power Plant Szczecin, among others, contemporary chief engineer of Szczecin Power Plant S.A. The engineer was caught red-handed while he was accepting a bribe in the amount of 50 000 PLN. As a result of the searches, more than 100 thousand PLN were secured in the service spaces of employees of Szczecin Power Plant. Three people detained were back then temporarily arrested.
The procedure, as indicated by the findings of the investigators, could cause multi-million losses to the detriment of the State Treasury's company - Polish Energy Group SA.
