Fictitious prescriptions. Pharmacists extorted hundreds of thousands from the National Health Fund (NFZ).

CBA on the track of illegal activities in one of Krakow's pharmacies. The prescriptions were implemented in the pharmacy, the patients did not know anything about it, and they did not receive any medicines. However, a high refund from the NFZ was paid.

The Regional Office of the CBA in Cracow, under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, is investigating the activities from 2013 to 2015 in Cracow, of an organized crime group that dealt with extortion of funds from the National Health Fund. The extortions were based on false documents - prescriptions.

During the investigation, it was established that one of the pharmacies in Cracow received prescriptions, which were implemented without the participation and knowledge of the patient. The situation concerned highly-refundable psychotropic drugs reimbursed by NFZ. Employees of the pharmacy legalized their activities, recording the sale of medicines in special reimbursement lists. On this basis, the pharmacy received money from the refund. In this way, not less than 265,000 PLN was illegally transferred to the pharmacy from the National Health Fund.

Now the owner, manager and employee of the pharmacy heard charges in the prosecutor's office regarding fraud and attestation of an untruth. The prosecutor applied bailout in the amount from 10,000 to PLN to 20,000 and secured property mortgages.

This is not the first case of this kind carried out by Krakow's CBA officers.
