Vice-starost from Piła detained. He was supposed to arrange positions.

The CBA agents from Poznań detained the Vice-starost of Pilski District and a Director of one of the departments of the District Starosty in Piła.

The case concerns the use of a public function in order to financial and personal benefits by other people.

According to the findings of the CBA agents from Poznań, the Piła vice-starost undertook activities going beyond his professional competences, directed at hiring or transferring to a higher position of people who do not comply with the professional requirements and belong to a group of his friends or were persons recommended by third parties.

In one of the cases examined by the Central Anticorruption Bureau, in connection with the competition for a managerial post in a nursing home subordinated to the starosty in 2018, the Piła starost was to demand that the position be taken by an indicated district councilor, even though he did not meet the requirements. These were to be specific demands addressed to subordinate employees of the starosty and organizational units.

The evidence collected by the CBA indicates that the vice-starost used for help in this illegal dealing inclined a subordinate high official of the District Starost office in Piła - the director of one of the departments.

The vice-starost was detained by Poznan CBA agents in front of his office when he came to work and the director was detained in his apartment. The CBA agents are searching the clerk's flat, documents in the starosty were already secured. Other activities are underway, witnesses are being examined.

Those detained by the CBA will be taken to the Poznań District Prosecutor's Office - Nowe Miasto in Poznań, where they will be charged.
