The CBA – medicines worth millions of zlotys exported from Poland
Officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok have detained 4 persons acting in an organized criminal group. The case concerns illegal trade in medicines. Medicines worth nearly PLN 140 million have been transferred abroad. The medicaments were on the ministerial list of medicines at risk of lack of availability in the country.
This is another part of the investigation connected with the so-called "drug mafia". Agents from the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok have detained 4 persons involved in illegal trade in medicines. The detainees transferred abroad medicines worth nearly PLN 140 million. The detainees will be transferred to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Białystok, where they will be charged. In the near future, further activities in this investigation can be expected.
In May last year, the CBA detained 7 people in this case. As it has been determined, the group broken by the CBA from the beginning of its activity, that is from 2014, could have been cooperating with over 6,500 pharmacies and pharmaceutical points from all over Poland. As part of the dealings, the medicaments, which were on the list of Polish Ministry of Health of medicines at risk of lack of availability in Poland, were purchased from Polish pharmacies for export.
