They extorted at least PLN 200 thousand – detentions carried out by the CBA
Three persons in the hands of the officers of the CBA. The investigation concerns acting with an aim of obtaining material benefit and extortion of at least PLN 200 thousand.
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Lublin have detained three persons. Among them are two managers and a representative of training companies. The ongoing proceedings concern extortion of subsidies in the years 2018-2019 under a project implemented by Lubelski Park Naukowo-Technologiczny S.A. (Lublin Science and Technology Park) in Lublin. The project “Development services for SMEs in the Lublin subregion” was aimed at improving competitiveness and adapting employers and employees to changes in the economy.
As it has been established, the mechanism of the crime consisted in entering into an agreement between the training company and the entrepreneur and creating fictitious documents connected with the organization of training, and, as a consequence, receiving reimbursement of part of the costs for the entrepreneur applying for subsidies. This practice led to an unfavorable disposition of property of the Lublin Voivodship Board in the amount of at least PLN 200 thousand.
The agents of the CBA searched the apartments and offices of the detainees. The collected material was transferred to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zamość, which supervises the ongoing proceedings. These are the first detentions in these proceedings.
