Investigation into corruption in Szczecin hospital
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Szczecin have been conducting proceedings with the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin regarding the acceptance of financial benefits by a person performing public function responsible for treating patients at the Clinical Department of PAM Thoracic Surgery, the Specialist Hospital of Professor A. Sokołowski Szczecin Zdunowo. The investigation was initiated at the beginning of December last year. So far, five people have been questioned by the CBA.
In connection with the pending proceedings, the CBA informs persons who have become entangled in this procedure and have given a financial benefit - that they have the opportunity to take advantage of the so-called exemption from prosecution clause resulting from art. 229 para. 6 penal code.
Pursuant to the Penal Code, the condition of avoiding criminal liability, if a material or personal benefit or their promise has been accepted by a person performing a public function, is voluntary notification of law enforcement agencies - in this case the Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin with its registered office at ul. Żołnierska 4d, tel. 22 437 38 00. The perpetrator must inform about this fact before this authority learnes about it and disclose all relevant circumstances of the crime.
