The CBA baffled launching a medicinal product for a bribe
Two people detained by the CBA shortly after an agreement was reached to "arrange" the registration of the medicinal product.
In a restaurant located in Warsaw, the officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Lublin detained the President of the Committee for Medicinal Products - the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products, and the chairman of the board of a Warsaw-based pharmaceutical company. As determined by the CBA officers, they both relied on influence in state institutions and undertook to obtain a positive decision of the abovementioned Office on the marketing of medical marijuana. The detained official expected “compensation" in cash, shares in companies, hiring family members, as well as employment as a manager.
Both men were detained as part of the CBA's own activities, while signing an investment obligation agreement to receive the claimed advantages.
At the same time, the CBA officers secured the evidence in the workplaces and residences of the detainees. They also requested documents from the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products.
Today, the collected material will be sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office in order to instigate an investigation and present charges to the detainees.
