Further elements in the puzzle. An investigation concerning a former senator of the Republic of Poland

A legal adviser and an entrepreneur detained by the CBA Regional Office in Kraków. The investigation concerns administrative corruption and invoking influence in state institutions. The case refers to a former senator of the Republic of Poland

The officers of the CBA Regional Office in Kraków, together with the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, have been conducting an investigation into intermediation in settling cases in exchange for financial advantages, and invoking influence in state and local government institutions of the Małopolska Voivodeship as well as giving financial advantages to persons performing public functions, in connection with exercising such functions. Within this investigation, 26 suspects have been charged, including the former 9th term senator of the Republic of Poland Stanisław K.

Continuing their activities within this investigation, the CBA officers have detained two more people in Krakow, including Marcin K., a legal adviser in the Senator's Office of the former senator Stanisław K., and Andrzej K. In the prosecutor's office, the detainees will face charges of undertaking to act as an intermediary in taking the ownership of a tenement house, located in the centre of Kraków. In return for the "favour", they were promised a financial advantage in the form of shares in the ownership of the property and cash in the amount of PLN 1.5 million. The procedural findings indicate that the detainees invoked the influence of, among others, senator Stanisław K. and the real property reprivatisation committee. In view of the developmental nature of the case, the investigators do not rule out further detentions.
