The indictment in court
The Internal Affairs Division of the National Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment with the court against four persons, including the prosecutor of the Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. The investigation has been conducted by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw.
An indictment against the prosecutor of the Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw and three other persons was submitted to the District Court for Warszawa Mokotów. All of them were detained by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw. The investigators' findings indicate that financial and personal advantages were handed over to the prosecutor of the Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. This involved a financial gain of PLN 1 million and personal advantages in the form of shirts, tickets for the Poland - Israel football match during Euro 2019, alcohol, sponsored meals. The evidence gathered in the case has revealed that in exchange for "gratifications" he violated the law by revoking the temporary detention applied against a murder suspect, despite the existence of the grounds for its further application, as well as by creating false evidence of the innocence of this person and providing information resulting from the investigation.
In October 2020, the Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court lifted the immunity of the prosecutor of the Praga Północ District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw and agreed to his detention.
Against all the detainees the court applied a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody, which has not been lifted pending the indictment.
