CBA inspection results in a notification submitted to the prosecutor's office
The CBA has completed its inspection of the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. The audit examined public procurement carried out in the years 2012-2016. The results of the audit, together with a notification of suspicion of an offence, have been submitted to the public prosecutor's office.
The officers of the Control Proceedings Division of the CBA Regional Office in Rzeszów have controlled the decision-making and execution of public procurement and disposal of property by the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. The investment for the expansion of the Rembelszczyzna junction as part of the construction of the high-pressure gas pipeline DN700 MOP 8.4 MPA between Rembelszczyzna and Gustorzyn together with auxiliary infrastructure was verified in detail.
The proceedings covered the years 2012-2016. The activities were conducted from 21 October 2020 to 21 July 2021.
In the course of the control, a number of irregularities were identified, including amendments to the main contract and groundless conclusion of some additional agreements, which could have caused substantial damage to the property of the commissioning party.
The findings gave rise to a reasonable suspicion that an offence under Article 296 § 1 of the Penal Code, i.e. acting to the detriment of the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., had been committed. The notification has been submitted to the District Prosecutor's Office Warszawa-Praga by a letter dated 8 February 2022.
