Another indictment in the so-called GetBack S.A. scandal
The court received another indictment in the GetBack S.A. case. The investigation has been conducted by the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw.
The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw filed a bill of indictment with the District Court in Łódź against 12 former Idea Bank S.A. employees accused of committing a total of 15 criminal offences in connection with the direct sale of GetBack S.A. bonds.
As a result of purchasing GetBack S.A.’s bonds offered by the defendants, 136 people suffered damage of almost PLN 17.7 million.
So far, in this multithreaded investigation conducted by the CBA under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, charges have been brought against more than 90 people.
In October 2020, the first indictment was filed in the case. The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw charged 16 persons with fraud in the distribution of GetBack S.A. bonds and investment fund certificates, abuse of powers and inflicting large-scale property damage to Idea Bank, as well as running a brokerage business by the bank without the required permit from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). Another indictment was filed in January this year and related to 11 persons, including four former members of the Management Board of GetBack S.A. and 7 other persons. The defendants include the former President of the Management Board of GetBack S.A. Konrad K., who was detained by the CBA in June 2018.
The investigation is still being carried out by investigators.
