The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, together with national and foreign Partners, on September 08-09 met with EUROPOL representatives as part of a study visit, financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
During the two-day visit to EUROPOL headquarters in The Hague, representatives of the CBA and partner institutions had an opportunity to learn from the inside how the EU agency functions. The meeting was attended by representatives of the analytical departments of the National Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
The purpose of the study visit was to get to know each other personally (the first opportunity since the start of the project) and to exchange experience in the implementation of the tasks of partner service/institution in the field of criminal and strategic analysis, as well as to familiarize themselves with the tools, databases and methods in the field of analysis that EUROPOL uses to fight serious crime.
For majority of the participants, this has been the first opportunity to learn about Europol's analytical potential, tools and solutions which the EU agency can offer as an substantial support for the member states. The study visit made it possible to establish contacts with representatives of various Europol units that can assist national services and institutions in fighting organized crime and developing the analytical potential of a given service/institution.
The study visit was carried out within the framework of the project " trengthening of law enforcement agencies and justice system institutions in the area of strategic and operational criminal analysis that will support identification, fight and prevention of corruption and economic crime." The project is financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, under program area PA20 "International police cooperation and combating crime" in the "Internal Affairs" Program. The total value of the project is EUR 545,292.00.
